Have you ever noticed that certain times of the year feel full of motivation while others naturally invite rest? Rather than fighting those shifts, astrology can help you understand them. One of the most practical ways to work with your birth chart is by following your rising sign and viewing your life through what I call your 12 Seasons.
This is the foundation of my Rising Sign approach. Instead of seeing your natal chart as a static personality description, I see it as a living calendar that guides how your energy naturally ebbs and flows throughout the year. When you begin paying attention to these cycles, astrology becomes less about prediction and more about self awareness.
Over the years, I've realized that many people love learning astrology but struggle with one question:
"How do I actually use this in everyday life?"
It's one thing to know your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs. It's another thing entirely to live your chart.
That's why I created the Your Rising Sign Plan framework. Rather than trying to memorize every transit or learn hundreds of astrological techniques, I encourage people to simply observe the natural rhythm of their own lives.
Your chart isn't asking you to be the same person every month of the year. It invites you to move through different seasons of growth, reflection, creativity, relationships, work, and rest.
When you stop expecting yourself to feel the same every day, life becomes much more compassionate and much more sustainable.
Most of us are taught that January 1 marks the beginning of a new year. But personally, that has never felt true.
In astrology, your rising sign marks the beginning of your First House, the place of identity, physical energy, and fresh starts. Every year, when the Sun returns to your rising sign, it feels like your own personal New Year.
This is when many people naturally experience:
Renewed motivation
Clearer direction
Excitement about starting projects
A desire to improve their health
More confidence
Increased physical energy
Instead of forcing goals based on the calendar, I prefer to work with this personal cycle. Your chart already knows when you're meant to begin again.
One of the biggest shifts I've experienced is moving away from simply reading astrology toward living astrology.
Rather than asking:
"What's happening in the sky today?"
I ask:
"How is this season inviting me to work with my own energy?"
This approach feels much more practical. Every month carries a different theme. Some seasons naturally support action and visibility, while others encourage rest, healing, reflection, or creativity. Instead of resisting those quieter seasons, I've learned to embrace them. Nature doesn't bloom every day of the year. Neither do we.
Modern life often encourages constant productivity.
Keep working.
Keep achieving.
Keep pushing.
But our bodies don't operate that way.
Our emotions don't operate that way.
Nature certainly doesn't operate that way.
Living cyclically means recognizing that energy naturally expands and contracts. There are periods of momentum and periods of integration. Both are equally valuable.
This perspective combines astrology with mindfulness by reminding us that nothing stays the same forever.
When you're experiencing a low energy season, it doesn't mean something is wrong.
It simply means another season is coming.
Your First House season is all about returning to yourself.
Depending on your rising sign, this may be the time when you naturally feel inspired to:
You might feel called to update your wardrobe, experiment with your personal style, change your hairstyle, or simply show up more authentically.
It's less about appearance for appearance's sake and more about aligning your outer expression with who you're becoming.
Many people experience increased motivation to move their body during this season.
This could look like:
Starting a workout routine
Trying yoga
Going for more walks
Improving nutrition
Creating healthier daily habits
Supporting your body with holistic practices
The goal isn't perfection. It's reconnecting with yourself.
The First House loves initiation.
This can be the perfect time to launch a project, begin a course, create a new routine, or finally start something you've been thinking about for months.
You don't need every detail figured out.
Momentum often arrives after taking the first step.
One theme that consistently appears for me during this season is learning to say no.
Healthy boundaries protect your energy.
Sometimes honouring yourself means declining invitations, slowing down, or recognizing that not every opportunity is meant for you.
As a Cancer Rising, Cancer season feels like my personal New Year every year.
By the end of Gemini season, I often notice my energy becoming quieter. While the world feels busy with graduations, celebrations, vacations, and social events, I usually find myself craving solitude and rest.
Then Cancer season arrives.
Almost overnight, I feel inspired to create again.
This year, that energy inspired me to relaunch my podcast, develop the Rising Sign Plan series, build my new offerings, and begin creating a year long mentorship centered around living your birth chart.
I've also noticed myself naturally focusing on First House themes.
I've been strength training again after taking a break.
I've been attending yoga in the park.
I've been reflecting on my personal style, wearing more colours that feel authentic, and even debating whether it's finally time to cut off the last of my old highlighted hair and fully embrace my natural colour.
None of these choices were forced.
They simply arrived because this season supports becoming more fully yourself.
Every First House season shares similar themes, but the energy expresses itself differently depending on your rising sign.
Fire rising signs may feel energized through adventure, movement, and taking bold action.
Earth rising signs may focus on creating stability, routines, and tangible progress.
Air rising signs often thrive through social connection, conversations, and new ideas.
Water rising signs may experience the season more intuitively, moving gently while honouring emotions and inner reflection.
There isn't one "correct" way to experience your First House season.
Your chart gives the season its own unique flavour.
Don't let that stop you from beginning.
If you don't know your birth time, you can start by following the natural astrological year beginning with Aries season around March 21.
Observe your energy.
Notice when motivation rises.
Pay attention to when you naturally crave rest.
The goal isn't perfection.
The goal is awareness.
Astrology becomes incredibly powerful when it moves beyond theory.
You don't need to memorize every planet or predict every transit.
You simply need to become curious about your own patterns.
Notice when your energy expands.
Notice when it contracts.
Notice which seasons invite action and which ones ask for reflection.
Over time, you'll begin trusting your own rhythm instead of comparing yourself to someone else's.
That's what Your Rising Sign Plan is all about.
It's not about becoming someone new.
It's about learning to work with the person you've always been.
If you're ready to explore your own astrological seasons, you can begin with my Your Rising Sign Plan Mini Course, book a Your Rising Sign Plan Reading, or join the Your Rising Sign Plan Mentorship to spend an entire year learning to live your chart, one season at a time.
